Nigella Lawson will headline the upcoming Melbourne Food and Wine Festival (MFWF) signalling a return of big international culinary stars to Australia’s shores after a two-year break.
Celebrating its 30th anniversary, the festival’s international line-up also includes Hong Kong chef Jowett Yu and London-based Aussie chef Skye Gyngell.
Attica chef and founder Ben Shewry will oversee for the signature World’s Longest Lunch for 2000 guests on March 25.
“One of the really cheering things has been how excited our guests are to come to Melbourne,” MFWF creative director Pat Nourse told Good Food.
“It’s going to be a lot of fun.”
It is a welcome return for the festival which was cancelled in 2020 and ran in a scaled back version last year.
“Some of the curve-balls that the summer has thrown at events and hospitality have kept us on our toes, but now the nerves are feeling more like anticipation,” Nourse said. “We can’t wait to bring this program to life.”
Melbourne Food and Wine Festival runs from March 25 to April 9.
