New surf inspired boutique hotel for NSW North Coast

A new surf styled boutique hotel has opened on the New South Wales North Coast in the small town of Yamba.

Situated opposite Yamba’s Main Beach, The Surf Yamba offers 12 rooms with an Australian coastal vibe.

The hotel is owned by David, Andrew and Phillip Mayne, who have previously owned and operated the Barkly Homestead in the Northern Territory for 15 years.

“Yamba has always been our go-to holiday destination, and with The Surf Yamba, we hope to introduce a new generation of Australians to this beautiful area,” said Andrew Mayne.

“The hotel has been inspired by the local scenic landscape, iconic beaches and headlands, and the rich heritage of Australia’s surfing culture.”

The Surf Yamba also caters for private functions and meetings across its rooftop terrace, Pool Deck, Pippi Deck and the Club Room.

Garry Snodgrass has been appointed general manager following GM roles at the luxury Six Senses Soneva resorts in the Maldives, Anantara Resorts Maldives, Thailand and Vietnam and Fiji’s legendary Castaway Island.

“I’m excited to welcome guests to The Surf Yamba and show them what a special place Yamba is,” said Snodgrass.

“There’s something for everyone here, whether guests want to retreat and relax at the hotel, or head out and explore the local beaches, and we look forward to delivering a personalised service to create a memorable experience.”
