Eugéne Human has been appointed general manager of Crowne Plaza Sydney Darling Harbour, which is set to open in May.
Eugéne takes the reigns of the new-build 152-room hotel after more than three years as general manager at Holiday Inn Sydney Airport. Previous to this, he was hotel manager at Holiday Inn Potts Point and general manager at ibis Styles Geraldton.
“I am incredibly proud to be leading the team and bringing Crowne Plaza back to Sydney’s CBD after a 10-year hiatus,” he said.
“This is a tremendously exciting time for Crowne Plaza. Globally we are seeing a complete transformation of the brand as we roll-out our vision to build hotels of the future with flexible design and innovation that modern travellers crave.
“We know that our guests are more digital and more mobile than ever before, which is why we are committed to being one of the city’s most connected hotels.
“As we put the finishing touches on the rooms and public areas, we can’t wait for guests and locals to come in and interact with the spaces we’ve created and embrace the new, future-focused Crowne Plaza”.
The new-build hotel features a rooftop heated infinity pool, 24 hour fitness centre, multiple dining venues including La Bella Restaurant & Bar and event spaces which can accommodate 170 people banquet-style.
