The Northern Territory government will invest $500,000 into a business events marketing program to showcase Central Australia along with a $1 million brand and trade campaign dedicated to the Red Centre.

The Northern Territory returned to pre-Covid levels of tourism spending in 2022 at $2.6 billion with the Territory government committed to growing that figure in 2023.

“This government is committed to working hard to tackle the social issues in Alice Springs as well as working hard to support tourism, grow jobs and the economy,” said Nicole Manison, Minister for Tourism and Hospitality.

“There is so much to be excited about when it comes to tourism in Central Australia in 2023, with world renowned light shows such as Wintiji Wiru at Uluru and Bruce Munro at Kings Canyon Resort, major events including Red Centre Nats, Finke and Parrtjima and an industry of dedicated professionals passionate about what they do.”
