New $25m hotel set for Adelaide’s Glenelg

A new seven-storey hotel will be built in Adelaide beachside suburb Glenelg.

The $25 million hotel will offer 60 rooms and a bar, restaurant and function room on its top floor, with construction slated to start in March next year.

“I think that Glenelg is crying out for this sort of facility and we want to bring it to the market,” Taplin Real Estate director Andrew Taplin told The Advertiser, adding that the group had originally planned to build residential apartments.

“During the process we were actually approached by a number of experienced hotel operators wanting to establish down at Glenelg which caused us to revisit our plan.”
