Flight Centre’s event agency cievents will merge with the company’s corporate travel brand FCM Travel Solutions and be rebranded as FCM Meetings and Events.
“It’s no secret that the past six months have been challenging not only for cievents but for the meetings and events industry around the world,” the company said in a statement.
“Here at cievents we’ve taken the opportunity during this time to reflect on our business and make the changes we believe will provide our customers with an enhanced offering to fit the new meetings and events landscape.
“cievents has been an industry leader in the MICE market for over 30 years and will continue to deliver the award-winning meetings and events it is known for under the new name of FCM Meetings & Events.
“This integration with FCM Travel Solutions, one of the top four travel management companies globally, will combine the unique expertise of cievents with FCM’s market-leading technology and extensive world-wide network. Customers will benefit from global reach, seamless travel, meetings, group travel and event capabilities, all under the FCM brand.
“So while our name will change from cievents to FCM Meetings & Events, many of the people and teams you know and trust remain. The transition to our new name and structure will occur over the coming months as we globally align cievents in its current form to FCM Meetings & Events. We will continue to keep you updated with this progress and changes to our branding over the coming weeks – however, in the meantime, it is business as usual.”
As part of the shake-up, cievents global GM Natalie Simmons will be stepping down on October 16 after 21 years with the company, with a new leader to be announced in the coming weeks.
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank our customers for supporting and trusting cievents in managing so many of their events over the past three decades,” said Simmons.
“I know that the team taking FCM Meetings & Events forward will continue to deliver the world-class events with the service you have all known and trusted. And as we see business events return, they will continue to be the industry leader they have always been.”
