Hobart’s MONA is reopening its Pharos wing and Faro restaurant in August ahead of the planned reopening of the rest of the museum later this year.
The venue’s award-winning bar and restaurant Faro will be open to the public from August 15 for a six week series of lunch and dinner experiences, along with live music, performance and art.
A $350 menu will be changed weekly with the theme revealed to diners only once they are seated. Diners will also be able to explore areas of the museum’s Pharos wing.
“From the greeting on arrival, to the food and drinks, and music and art, this is an opportunity for us to experiment on our guests at Faro, and for our local visitors to experience the restaurant anew,” MONA co-chief executive officer Mark Wilsdon told The Mercury.
The restaurant will also be open for lunches and a choice of a five-course set menu or six courses on Saturday nights.
