Melbourne Convention Bureau (MCB) has shot out of the blocks this financial year, securing 21 business events across Corporate Incentive Travel (CIT) and the first major association event of the year, CODA 2020 (formally known as the Social Media and Critical Care Conference).
The majority of the 3728 delegates are due to arrive over the next two months and deliver almost 11,000 room nights.
MCB’s acting CEO Julia Swanson praised the efforts by the MCB team only four weeks into the new financial year.
“We are off to a flying start this year, with the team consistently increasing hotel occupancy during the winter months with visitors staying mid-week,” she said.
“The incentive sector has never looked so healthy, providing ongoing direct business opportunities to our MCB partners. More room nights, venue bookings and retail spend – ultimately a partnership with MCB means more business.”
