Two Melbourne-based event companies have merged to form Spark Event Group.

Miles Per Hour and Event Workforce came together to supply an end-to-end solution for event management, logistics and workforce.

The two companies worked together previously on a number of Australia’s biggest events including the Australian Formula One Grand Prix, Australian Open, White Night Melbourne and Regional, Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix and Red Bull Wings for Life World Run.

Miles Per Hour founder Geordie Miles founder is leading the Spark Event Group team.

“It’s a fantastic development for our staff, both permanent and casual as it provides a pathway into senior roles, as well as our existing clients and the industry as a whole,” he said.

Event Workforce Group co-founder Shannan Gove said the merger was the culmination of the two companies’ relationship over five years.

“It makes great sense to combine the experience and know-how of two proven high performers in an industry which is ever changing and evolving,” he said.

“Spark now provides for every facet of event workforce and integrates proven, expert event management.”

Event Workforce Group co-founder Bennett Merriman said the purpose behind the companies remains the same.
