Meetings & Events Australia (MEA) has opened entries for its awards program despite a challenging year.
Following a review by event professionals from across the country, MEA has reinvigorated the 2020 National Awards program with a number of changes.
There are a total of 40 awards up for grabs across six categories including an event legacy award. There is also a new category for Excellence in the Industry, while a new award for Event Freelancer of the Year has been created. Categories such as events of the year, event management, venues and products and services now include virtual and hybrid events in the eligibility.
Due to the impact from Covid-19 on resourcing, the word count has been reduced by around 40 per cent in each category to make the awards easier to enter.
An additional month has been allowed for applications which close on 1 March 2021.
