Meetings & Events Australia (MEA) has announced that EVOLVE 2020 will be held in the Hunter Valley at the IHG Crowne Plaza Hunter Valley.
“It has been 17 years since MEA’s conference has been held in regional Australia and we are delighted to be inviting the event industry to this very special part of the country,” said Robyn Johnson, MEA’s CEO.
“The planning is already well underway to expand the content of the business program and secure the networking events that will delight and amaze the attendees. We have very high benchmarks to exceed, however we are very excited to be going regional in 2020.”
Destination NSW CEO Sandra Chipchase said the news is a major coup for both the Hunter Region, as well as the State’s thriving regional business events offering.
“This is another feather in our cap for the State, particularly when it comes to our regional areas being selected to host major industry events that are typically held in major cities,” Chipchase said.
“Increasing regional conferencing and other business events in rural and regional NSW is a key focus of the NSW Government via Destination NSW. The Government has committed $6 million over four years to develop and implement a Regional Conferencing Strategy to assist regional operators to secure more conventions, corporate meetings and other business events across regional NSW.”
There will be transport options for delegates from Sydney and Newcastle airports and MEA is working closely will all local operators to deliver EVOLVE 2020, which will be held on 3-5 May.
