Renowned chef Matt Moran’s restaurant at the Art Gallery of New South Wales, Chiswick at the Gallery, is set to close in January next year after seven years of service.
Moran will continue his partnership with the Gallery as Culinary Adviser for the venue’s events and dining offering.
“We have made the decision to focus our time and energy on our other 25 restaurants, pubs and bars,” said Justine Baker, CEO of Solotel Group, operators of Chiswick at the Gallery.
“This decision means that we will be consolidating our Chiswick brand back to our Woollahra restaurant.
“We have been privileged to have so many wonderful guests and to have shared so many wonderful exhibitions, special occasions and milestones with them.
“I’d also like to thank our team for how they have pulled together and continued to adapt throughout the many challenges of 2020 to continue to provide guests with enjoyable and safe dining experiences, and we wish the Art Gallery of NSW all the best with the venue moving forward.”
Art Gallery of NSW director of development John Richardson said it had been “a highly successful partnership for the past seven years”.
“As we look to the next chapter for this truly unique venue, we look forward to working with Matt with an exciting year of exhibitions and events ahead of us.”
