Event organisers are being encouraged to apply for up to $5,000 worth of marketing support for events in the Tamworth region.

Run by Tamworth Regional Council, applications are now open for the 2022-2023 Regional Events Marketing Program.

“The last few years have been really tough on events in our region and this is a way that we can assist event organisers to be able to market their event to maximise attendance,” said Jacqueline O’Neill, Tamworth Regional Council’s Director of Growth and Prosperity.

“Each application is assessed individually to ensure they meet the criteria. The marketing support provided ranges from media coverage, distribution of promotional material, social media promotion and more.”

Events in the past that have received support from the program include Barraba Show, Manilla Show, Grey Fergie Tractor Muster, Nundle Country Picnic, Australian Country Dance Festival, Great Nundle Dog Race and the Australian Quarter Horse Association Show and Performance.

Australian Country Dance Festival event organiser Chris Watson said the support offered by the Council made the event more viable by providing more reach and attracting visitors to the event both nationally and internationally.

“The application process was easy and if you’re planning an event you should already have everything at your fingertips to complete the application” said Watson.
