LIV Golf is expected to give the Adelaide hotels another sugar hit after the recent occupancy boost delivered by the Adelaide Fringe and Santos Tour Down Under.

LIV Golf is being hosted in Adelaide until Sunday, with hotel occupancy sitting around 78 per cent on Friday and Saturday, on par with the level achieved last year, according to recent data from CoStar.

Similar occupancy rates were achieved during the Santos Tour Down Under in January, while the Adelaide Festival in February and March boosted occupancy levels to 82.5 per cent.

“Adelaide continues to solidify its reputation as Australia’s Festival State, showcasing the power of homegrown events to drive significant tourism and economic benefits,” said Matthew Burke, STR’s regional director of the Pacific, Japan and Central South Asia.

“Building upon the success of previous years, the market’s major festivals and sporting events have become post-pandemic highlights, attracting domestic and international visitors, ultimately boosting hotel performance.”
