Queensland’s Resource Industry Network (RIN) recently staged two successful events at the Mackay Entertainment and Convention Centre, both attracting record attendances.
After being forced to cancel last year, the organisation’s annual Safety Conference attracted around 300 delegates at the end of last month.
Resource Industry Network also recently staged a International Women’s Day luncheon at the MECC, drawing 530 guests from industries throughout the Mackay Region. It was the largest luncheon staged at the MECC since the start of the pandemic.
“The strong attendances speak volumes about how the METS and resources sector participants are keen to return to face-to-face contact with their industry colleagues,” said Sonia Andersen, RIN’s events and projects manager.
“It also sends an impressive message about how a regional venue like the Mackay Entertainment and Convention Centre has been able to successfully provide a Covid-safe environment for such large group gatherings.”
