New Caledonia Tourism has promoted Julie Laronde to general manager, taking over from Jean-Marc Mocellin, who held the role for three years.
Laronde has held the position of deputy general manager since 2010.
“I am honoured and excited to step into the role of general manager, especially during these unprecedented times,” she said.
“I am committed to continuing to build local and international visitation to New Caledonia and the South Province, and I look forward to working with the New Caledonia Tourism team to put into place a bold marketing strategy that engages and mobilises our stakeholders like never before, especially during this challenging global climate.
“We are confident the industry will recover. We are working hard, and when travel reboots, we will be ready. I send my best wishes and support to the Australian people and tourism industry and look forward to welcoming our Australian neighbours again soon.”
