Informa expects profit jump in 2024 as in-person events recover

London-based event company Informa is expecting profits to rise in 2024 as in-person events continue to bounce back post pandemic.

Informa is forecasting revenue growth just under double digits this year with an adjusted operating profit in the range of US$1.23 billion.

Informa CEO Stephen Carter said mainland China is performing well but still has room for growth.

“If there is one geographical area that still has more return growth, post-COVID growth to come, it would be Hong Kong because Hong Kong is very dependent upon international traffic in our line of business,” he told Reuters.

“The international traffic flows to Hong Kong are returning, but they are slightly slower than the domestic return in mainland China.”

Informa also announced its digital business Informa Tech will merge with US-based TechTarget.

“The combination brings scale benefits, diversified revenue streams and strategic expansion opportunities by expanding TechTarget’s current addressable market,” the companies added.
