In what seems a positive omen for the remaining half of the year, IHG has opened its latest hotel in Hobart marking the arrival of the first IHG hotel in Tasmania.
The new-build Crowne Plaza Hobart offers 235-rooms with harbour or Mount Wellington views from each room.
The hotel also features Hobart’s first Club Lounge, alongside two restaurants, core restaurant and bar and THE DECK, led by local executive chef John Churchill.
Churchill brings a farm-to-table philosophy with a focus on small batch suppliers and low waste processes, including a partnership with Macquarie Point’s ‘Edible Precinct’ where organic waste will be dehydrated and composted to fuel the rooftop gardens.
Crowne Plaza Hobart also features six versatile meeting and event spaces including a ballroom with natural lighting.
The hotel was originally due to open in March but postponed due to the Covid restrictions.
