ICCA Indonesia has launched a national committee with the aim of building a stronger community and creating collaborative opportunities within the membership.
The ICCA Indonesia Committee is currently headed by Raty Ning of Pacto Convex. The co-deputy chairs are Muhammad Reza Abdullah (Royalindo Expoduta); Farid Patria (The Trans Luxury Hotel); and Ralph Scheunemann (JIEXPO Convention Centre and Theater).
“The establishment of the national committee brings together ten industry leaders and government representative from the MICE sector in Indonesia,” said Ning.
“Moving forward, we are optimistic that the ICCA Indonesia Committee could become a good platform to promote Indonesia as an important convention destination both nationally and internationally and increase educational opportunities for young professionals and continue education programs for senior professionals.”
ICCA Regional Director Asia Pacific Noor Hamid said the new committee was a significant move for Indonesia to capitalise on the importance of associations.
“It serves as a platform for greater teamwork and collaboration, and a strong voice to represent the meetings industry,” he said. “We applaud this effort and congratulate the ICCA Indonesia Committee on taking the lead in the business events segment to raise the profile of the industry and the association.”
The newly formed Indonesia Committee joins five other Country Committees in the Asia Pacific region – ICCA Australia, ICCA China, ICCA India, ICCA Malaysia and ICCA Thailand.
To date, ICCA Indonesia comprises 10-member organisations in Bali, Bandung, Jakarta, Surabaya and Tangerang.
