A major international biomedical conference is heading to Sydney next week, bringing together more than 2,300 experts from around the world to discuss advances in biomedical engineering.

Taking place across all four levels at ICC Sydney from 24-27 July, the 45th Annual International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (EMBC 2023) has surpassed delegate and sponsorship targets, with 87% of delegates coming from overseas and more than 1,000 speakers.

Keynote speaker Professor Nicholas Opie will discuss his company’s advances with the Stentrode, a product that allows people with paralysis to control external equipment such as phones and computers with their mind.

Another key feature for EMBC 2023 is the sold-out Women in Engineering forum, a first for the conference series which will feature an all-female speaker line-up.

The Arinex Group has managed all aspects of EMBC 23, including speaker management, program management and accommodation.

“It has been a labour of love to bring EMBC 23 to fruition and we are grateful for the sound guidance and great support of Arinex,” said EMBC 23 Conference Chair Nigel Lovell.

“We are sure that the outstanding scientific program will foster many productive discussions and new collaborations when we welcome people to Sydney this week.”
