Hilton Surfers Paradise’s $9 million makeover in 2020 has paid another dividend, with the hotel taking home two awards at the 20th annual Queensland Hotels Association (QHA) Awards for Excellence.
Hilton Surfers Paradise took out the major award for Best Redeveloped Hotel – Accommodation while duty manager Lucas Evans was named Hotel Industry Rising Star for 2021.
Fiona Pryde, general manager at Hilton Surfers Paradise, said they were very fortunate that despite a challenging 2020 that the owner continued in the hotel’s redevelopment.
“Renovating the entire ground floor during the COVID-19 pandemic created a sense of optimism within the team during challenging times,” she said.
“It also gave the hotel something new and exciting for our loyal guests to experience once interstate travel resumed.”
