Hackers reveal personal details of 10.6m MGM hotel guests

MGM Resorts hotels has had a massive data breach, with the personal details of more than 10.6 million guests posted on an online hacking forum.

A report in ZDNet said within the data breach were the details of some very high profile guests across MGM’s resorts in the US, Japan and China, including Justin Bieber and Twitter chief executive Jack Dorsey.

The details published include full names, home addresses, phone numbers and emails, but no financial or password data was breached.

The information contains no information from guests who stayed at the resorts after 2017 and stems from a security incident that happened last year after MGM “discovered unauthorized access to a cloud server that contained a limited amount of information for certain previous guests of MGM Resorts”, an MGM spokesperson told ZDNet.
