A new round of funding for Tasmanian businesses in the events sector has opened today to help offset the impact of the coronavirus restrictions.
Tasmanian Minister for Small Business, Hospitality and Events Sarah Courtney has announced grants from $5,000 to $100,000 to support local small businesses that provide critical event support infrastructure and other services that are essential to the running of events.
The funding could be used by small businesses to provide critical infrastructure — such as marquee hire, portable toilets, AV and technical support — as well as professional event organising businesses and promoters. The grant will not be available for funding individual events.
“We know this is a very challenging time for events organisers, which is why we are delivering Event Ready Grants for events that can operate now, as well as developing a framework for larger events to occur in the future in a COVID-19-safe way,” Courtney said.
The program will close on 13 November 2020. Head here for more information.
