The Gold Coast will host the Bapcor Convention in October 2019, attracting up to 1000 delegates over five days, with an estimated economic impact of over $3 million for the city.
“This is a great result for the Gold Coast and highlights our capabilities to stage large-scale conferences that deliver the best combination of meeting and accommodation venues, experiences and attractions,” said Destination Gold Coast CEO Annaliese Battista.
“A conference of this scale contributes significantly to the Gold Coast’s economy and we’re confident these delegates will enjoy an inspiring and memorable convention in our city.”
Bapcor CEO and managing director Darryl Abotomey said the Gold Coast was selected because of the infrastructure to support a group of this size.
“The Star Gold Coast and Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre, excellent offsite venues, along with the ideal weather make the Gold Coast a perfect location to hold one of the major conferences and expo’s in our industry,” said Abotomey.
Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre will host the event from 17 – 21 October.
