Royal Caribbean Cruises has appointed Gavin Smith as managing director across Australia and New Zealand as it looks to grow its Royal Caribbean, Celebrity and Azamara brands.
Smith has spent 11 years working in both local and global roles with Royal Caribbean, including four years as senior vice president of international.
Smith is returning to Australia for the role, replacing Susan Bonner who has relocated to Miami to lead a new strategic project for Celebrity Cruises.
“No one is more passionate about the Australia and New Zealand markets than Gavin, and we are excited to welcome him back to his home market after a successful term leading our international team,” said Michael Bayley, CEO of Royal Caribbean International.
“I want to thank Susan for her contributions to the Australian and New Zealand region and we look forward to welcoming her back to our Miami campus.”
