Fyre Festival documentaries heading to Netflix and Hulu

The epic con that was the Fyre Festival is proving to be a hit with filmmakers, with both Netflix and Hulu screening documentaries on the disastrous event.

Fyre Festival was promoted by paid social media influencers as a luxurious getaway to the Bahamas with a once in a lifetime line up of musical acts. Instead, festival goers found themselves in emergency shelters, with no food and no performers.

The festival’s founder, Billy McFarland, ended up in jail.

Emmy-nominated and Peabody-winning directors Jenner Furst and Julia Willoughby Nason’s documentary Fyre Fraud has premiered on Hulu. Emmy-nominated director Chris Smith’s documentary Fyre: The Greatest Party That Never Happened is being shown on Netflix.
