Australians accounted for more than half (55%) of the total visitor arrivals to Fiji since reopening, with September seeing 38,950 Aussies arrive in just one month.

December marks one year since Fiji re-opened its borders to the world with Australian arrivals up 100 per cent on 2019 figures.

September’s record number of Australian visitors was 116.9 per cent of pre-Covid levels.

Tourism spend was also up 12 per cent on pre-Covid levels alongside visitor stays which have almost doubled to 9.7 nights.

“It’s been wonderful to welcome back international visitors for the last 12-months and to see a steady, and more recently a rapid increase in numbers as the world gets used to travelling again,” said Tourism Fiji CEO Brent Hill.

“The recovery trajectory for visitor arrivals has exceeded our expectations and the impact can be seen in our economy with tourists buzzing in resorts, towns, and villages as people experience the true Fiji.
