The Australian National Maritime Museum celebrated the launch of its new Corporate Family Fun Day packages with a special function for the event industry last week.
The Corporate Family Fun Day packages include access to vessels, pirate guides, craft activities including ‘make your own pirate cupcakes’ and treasure hunt tours across the museum’s galleries. The experience is available to all ages and caters for between 80 to 1500 people.
“The Museum is perfectly positioned to create a memorable, experience -based event, which is so important for organisers when trying to engage conference delegates,” said Rebecca O’Brien, acting general manager, commercial services.
“With a spectacular backdrop like Sydney Harbour, our access to the ICC and Darling Harbour attractions, our showcase of ever-changing exhibitions, innovative catering and connections with entertainers and speakers – both within the Museum and externally – an event at the Museum offers a multi-sensory experience which is very appealing.”
The Museum had a bumper year in 2018, hosting nearly half a million events guests across a diverse mix of conferences and events.
“We’ve had everything from tap dancers, Cher impersonators and full-scale brass bands performing from the top of the Waterfront Pavilion, but can just as easily provide an intimate wardroom dinner for 16 people on board the HMAS Vampire,” said O’Brien.
