Meetings & Events Australia (MEA) has launched the 2019 Ungerboeck Young Professional Scholarship Program.
The Scholarship recognises young event professionals who excel in their role and who are looking to build on their skills to advance their career in the events industry.
The program is open to employees of MEA members 30 years of age or under with less than three years full time experience in the meetings and events industry.
Scholarships are awarded to one winner in each state and territory who will have the opportunity to attend EVOLVE 2020 in the Hunter Valley to develop their skills and network with industry leaders.
“The scholarship program is an integral part of the career pathway and MEA appreciates Ungerboeck’s ongoing commitment to allow us to deliver the program. I encourage employers to support their team members to apply,” said MEA CEO Robyn Johnson.
The application process includes interviews with each applicant by a panel of independent industry event professionals in early February who will identify a recipient from each state and territory.
“Attending Evolve 2019 was an amazing experience and it was wonderful to share this with the other state winners,” said Djenat Ploughman, from Melbourne & Olympic Parks, who was a recipient of the 2018 scholarship program.
“The most valuable aspect of the program was getting my name out within the industry and growing my network.”
Another recipient was Taryn Reid of Business Events Tasmania.
“I believe attending Evolve inspired and instilled in me how fantastic the event’s industry is and that I want to be part of it,” she said.
Applications close on 31 January 2020.
