Darwin Convention Centre launches bid champion grant program

Darwin Convention Centre won the Business Event Venues category in the 2021 Australian Tourism Awards.

The Darwin Convention Centre has announced its inaugural Bid Champion Grant program.

Supported by Northern Territory Business Events and Tourism Australia, the program will award two $5,000 grants across two rounds of funding to support successful Bid Champion Grant applicants with the aim to identify future international conferences that have the potential to be held in Darwin.

“Now more than ever, it is imperative to build awareness and partner with our community to leverage resources and expertise to attract future conferences to Darwin,” said Peter Savoff, general manager at Darwin Convention Centre.

The first round of applications are due on April 1.

“This is an outstanding initiative from the Darwin Convention Centre that leverages local expertise to attract more international association conferences to Darwin,” said Minister for Tourism and Hospitality Natasha Fyles.
