Darwin Convention Centre Hotel to operate under Momentus brand

Singaporean hotel company CEL has been picked to develop and manage the Darwin Convention Centre Hotel on the Waterfront Precinct.

The new-build hotel will operate under Momentus Hotels & Resorts, marking the debut of the brand in Australia when it opens late 2026.

“We’re definitely looking to build at least two restaurants and at least one pool, a pool on the first floor, but as for the other details it’s too early to say,” said CEL Darwin executive director Gallant Tang.

The NT government is contributing around $5 million to the development in the form of the land and headworks.

“This project is great for tourism, especially in the area of conference travel, creating an extra 236 beds in Darwin,” said NT Chief Minister Eva Lawler.

“This project is also a win for workers in our hospitality and tourism industry, with positive flow-on effects for other local businesses such as tour operators and is another feather in the cap of the Darwin Waterfront area.”
