Darwin and Katherine enter 3-day lockdown

Chief Minister Michael Gunner is concerned over the risk of potential transmission.

Greater Darwin and Katherine have entered a three-day lockdown after a single Covid case was detected.

An international arrival who had been in 14-day quarantine in Sydney stayed in Darwin for several days and visited “various locations” in the CBD before travelling to Katherine to work at the Knotts Crossing resort before returning a positive test on Sunday night.

“There is a very real risk that this virus has been transmitted to others,” said Chief Minister Michael Gunner.
