The billionaire owner of the Crystalbrook Collection is set to bring the brand to Canberra.

Ghassan Aboud will open a 238-room Crystalbrook hotel at Canberra’s Garema Place in early 2027. The hotel will include a ballroom and meetings spaces, rooftop bar and  wellness centre.

Aboud has also set his sights on a global expansion of the hotel brand.

“We’d like to take Crystalbrook to the Middle East, to the Far East and into Northern Europe,” he told the Australian Financial Review.

“We see many opportunities in markets that are growing like Australia, such as Finland and Norway.”

The Canberra property marks the ninth hotel for Crystalbrook which includes the recently announced hotel for Adelaide in 2026.
