Crystalbrook Collection has not let the Covid-19 downturn dampen its plans with a $10 million luxury lodge on the cards.
Development plans lodged with Mareeba Shire Council outlines plans to transform a rural cattle station 180km west of Cairns into a luxury lodge that includes four stand-alone accommodation cabins, including 12 single-bed, double-storey eco-suites and two eco-villas across two floors in addition to an infinity pool and other amenities.
The cattle station supplies the meat for Crystalbrook’s portfolio of hotels and restaurants.
Crystalbrook Collection acting chief executive Geoff York said they decided to “push ahead” despite the current shutdown across Cairns.
“It will be ready to go when we decide the time is right,” he told the Cairns Post.
Crystalbrook’s third and final new hotel in Cairns, Flynn, has had its official opening date pushed back to October due to the Civid-19 travel bans.
