Cisco cancels flagship Melbourne conference over coronavirus fears

Cisco Australia has cancelled its flagship conference Cisco Live, which was due to take place from March 3-6 in Melbourne.

Around 8500 people were expected to attend this year’s event which was to be held at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.

In a statement on its website, Cisco said: “Due to ongoing concerns about the current outbreak of Coronavirus, Cisco has made the difficult decision to cancel Cisco Live Melbourne scheduled for March 3-6, 2020 in Australia.

“Our customers, partners and employees are our top priority and we strongly believe this is the right decision given the current circumstances. Our thoughts are with those directly impacted by this situation.”

Cisco also pulled out of this year’s Mobile World Congress in Barcelona which was eventually forced to cancel as well.
