Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre celebrates 25-year milestone with a cake

IAS 2023
IAS 2023 will be held in Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre.

It may not be the best time to celebrate a major milestone for any event venue, but Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre (BCEC) is quietly celebrating 25 years of delivering major events to Queensland.

Although currently closed to the public due to Covid-related government directives, the Centre was able to mark the occasion with a birthday cake, enjoyed by a small team of essential business and service staff, on-site preparing for the centre’s re-opening.

During its 25 years of continued operation, BCEC has hosted some 22,000 events and welcomed 18.5 million visitors during that time.

A major contributor to the economic fabric of Queensland, the Centre is responsible for more than 70 per cent of delegate days to Brisbane each year, in addition to the enduring benefits associated with knowledge wealth, employment and industry growth and development.

“To all of our visitors over the past quarter of a century and the community, we thank you for your support and we look forward to welcoming you back to the Centre in the near future,” BCEC said in a statement.

“Most importantly, we wish to thank our many loyal clients who have entrusted us to deliver their events. BCEC prides itself on a client focussed and collaborative approach to planning and delivering world class experiences.”
