Brisbane Airport’s international numbers returning to 2019 levels as Qantas increases seats

International travel is almost back to pre-pandemic levels at Brisbane Airport as Qantas adds an extra 35,000 seats to overseas destinations.

Qantas will boost services to New Zealand (Wellington) and Samoa (Apia) from October to cater to extra demand.

Brisbane Airport is expected see a return to 2019 levels for international flights following several airlines offering new destinations.

“We’ve had a fantastic response from Queenslanders wanting to travel across the Tasman since our Wellington route first launched late last year,” said Qantas International CEO Cam Wallace.

Qantas now operates non-stop flights to 11 international destinations from Brisbane, with three of those routes launching in the past two years.
