Brexit chaos currency slump behind cancelled London Comic Con

Organiser Showmasters has cancelled the winter edition of its London Comic Con show, originally scheduled to take place November 23 to 24 at Olympia, due to the ongoing political chaos caused by Brexit and the resulting pound-to-US dollar exchange.

“Running our larger events we are very dependent on the pound to the dollar exchange rate and recently the pound dived to its lowest rate in decades which means that most US guests costs have risen dramatically and this looks likely to stay this way until we all find out where we stand with Brexit in the coming months,” the organiser stated.

The Spring edition of London Comic Con is still scheduled to take place from February 29 to March 1, 2020.
