Ballarat will host the 2020 Australian Regional Tourism Convention.
To be held October 26-28, the City of Ballarat said it is looking forward to showcasing the city as a conference destination.
“Recently crowned a UNESCO Creative City, Ballarat is a leading example of how local government, business, artisans and tourism bodies are collaborating to leverage existing and emerging visitor trends,” said Ballarat Mayor Ben Taylor.
Australian Regional Tourism Chair Coralie Bell said they were excited to be working with City of Ballarat to deliver the convention.
“The City of Ballarat is currently undergoing a period of significant change in their approach to engaging and supporting their local visitor economy, this combined with the regional city’s rapid growth sets an ideal scene for a vibrant and stimulating convention,” said Bell.
The 2020 Convention theme is “building resilient and adaptive communities that thrive”, with Nigel Collin announced as the convention facilitator.
Early-bird registrations will open online in March.
