The new Bali tourist tax kicks in this week, with visitors to the island set to fork out 150,000 IDR per person (around $15) from February 14.

The new tourism levy is payable online via the LOVE BALI website or mobile app by bank transfer, virtual account or Qris payment.

Cashless payments can also be made at Bali’s I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, as well as any other harbourside entry point.

The funds raised by the new levy, which are expected to be around $185,000 each day, will go towards conservation efforts and improving services and safety standards for visitors.
