Bailey opens the door for aspiring Australian artists

Bailey hotel in Cairns has launched a programme for up-and-coming Australian artists.

Aspiring Artist is a comprehensive advocacy arts programme giving would-be artists the opportunity to showcase their talents and have their artworks featured on display and for sale at the hotel’s gallery, with all proceeds going directly to the artist.

The Aspiring Artist programme welcomes all forms from performance art to painting, drawing, sculpture, graffiti and beyond.

“Our goal at Bailey is to make art accessible, inclusive and empowering,” said Bailey general manager Carl Taranto. “We’re giving aspiring, undiscovered artists the opportunity to share their artistic talents and have their work seen by thousands of people.”

The selected aspiring artists will be able practice art live in Bailey public spaces, hold an opening exhibition at Bailey and receive a week-long stay at the hotel.
