AV24/7 helps career expo for girls go virtual for the first time

A career expo for girls has made a rapid pivot to a virtual event with the help of AV24/7 and Business Chicks.

Presented by expo organiser The Cool Careert, new career expo CAREERCON will be delivered virtually on a platform created by AV24/7, who had just a week to prepare.

Over 3,500 people have already registered for the event which has been curated by entrepreneur Kura Antonello.

“We’re really excited about taking the careers expo online for the first time – we’re seeing a huge take-up in registrations from young people in need of inspiration and hope,” Antonello said.

“For years we’ve been working with schools by taking career conversations right to the students – we wanted to make sure that we could still help girls in 2020 and ensure they didn’t feel that 2020 was a lost year.

“There’s a lot of confusion about how disrupted studies will affect getting into university or vocational courses. So, we thought we’d take our experts into the virtual event setting and connect them with the thousands of girls wanting to understand where to next in their career options.”

AV24/7 co-owner and general manager Libbie Ray said she was glad to be able to help deliver the expo in such a short amount of time as she has always been a strong supporter of programs that support and inspire young women.

“We’ve been helping lots of companies deliver virtual and hybrid events,” Ray said. “When the opportunity arose to deliver our services to this important initiative, we grabbed it with both hands.”
