The Australian International Marine Export Group (AIMEX) will hold its annual conference ASMEX 2022 on the Gold Coast this May.
To be held from May 16-18 at the InterContinental Sanctuary Cove Resort under the theme of ‘Reconnecting with the world’, the conference will focus on the direction of the export, superyacht and commercial sectors of Australia’s marine industry as they adapt to ‘living with Covid’.
“Our marine industry is a shining beacon within our local economy,” said Gold Coast Mayor Tom Tate.
“The industry is enjoying some stellar times thanks to the incredible enthusiasm of private investment in new products, facilities, logistics and support services.
“Governments at any level can only do so much so to see the level of investment underway right now shows the confidence that exists in the marketplace. The City is delighted to continue support for ASMEX and I wish conference organisers success.’’
David Good, AIMEX’s chief executive, said the conference will provide much needed direct contact and networking with industry members.
“With borders open to all international arrivals, it’s important for marine businesses to reconnect with their clients and to re-establish their relationships,” he said.
AIMEX will also host the annual Australian Marine Industry Awards at the Southport Yacht Club as part of the conference program.
