Regional event holders in WA can now apply for funding through the 2022-23 Regional Events Scheme.
Event holders can apply for grants between $5,000 and $40,000 for events held between July 1, 2022 and June 30, 2023.
The annual funding round supports smaller and developing events around Western Australia, with a total of up to $1 million of funding available.
The funding includes $150,000 for the Regional Aboriginal Events Scheme (RAES) to support events that showcase and celebrate Aboriginal activities and experiences through the leadership and participation of Aboriginal people.
Sixty-two regional events around the State were awarded funding under the 2021-22 scheme, including five through the RAES.
“Our regional events play such an important role in showcasing the unique destinations that make our State such a popular holiday destination for visitors, particularly as the industry continues to recover from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Tourism Minister David Templeman.
“I encourage all eligible regional event holders to apply for the Regional Events Scheme to help make their event even bigger and better.”
Applications close at 5pm on October 19, 2021.
