Albury Entertainment Centre gets $15m boost for upgrade

Albury Entertainment Centre has received $15 million in NSW government funding to upgrade its facilities.

The $30 million redevelopment of Albury Entertainment Centre is also set to receive $10 million dollars from the federal government and $5 million from Albury City Council.

The redevelopment will include an expansion of the convention facilities, new pre-function spaces, meeting rooms and multi-purpose events space.

“This is about creating jobs, this is about creating opportunities, and it’s also about revitalising the CBD here in the Albury are,” said Deputy Premier Paul Toole.

The NSW government also announced a $25 million Reconnecting Regional NSW — Community Events Program to help regional councils stage shows, festivals and recovery events.

Qantas has also announced a new direct route between Albury and Adelaide from July 8 to September 25, operating two weekly return flights.

“A new capital city route is fantastic news for Albury, which is quickly becoming one of our most connected regional centres,” said QantasLink chief executive officer John Gissing said.
