AFTA appoints new chief executive

The Australian Federation of Travel Agents (AFTA) has confirmed Darren Rudd will be its new chief executive, replacing Jayson Westbury.

Westbury resigned from his post following comments he made about A Current Affair host Tracy Grimshaw, saying she needed “a firm uppercut or slap across the face”.

Rudd is currently corporate affairs chief for Indian conglomerate Tata and previously at NBN. He’s also a director of the Australia Council for the Arts.
