Jesse Kornoff has been appointed hotel general manager for Adina Apartment Hotel Pentridge Melbourne, which is set to open in February 2023.
The 110-apartment hotel is part of a billion-dollar lifestyle precinct in Coburg which also includes residential apartments, shopping, dining outlets and an outdoor cinema.
The new-built portion of the Adina Pentridge has been added to a section of the former prison known as ‘Division B’, with the adaptive reuse of B Division’s exercise yard into the hotel’s reception, modern glass hotel tower and porte cochere, while the prison’s former chapel has been converted into a function centre.

Kornoff brings more than 25 years’ experience to his new role including a stint at Mount Lofty House.
Other new appointments at the precinct include Head Chef Thomas Woods, who will lead the kitchen team across the 200-seat North & Common elevated bistro-style restaurant and nearby Olivine wine bar in Pentridge’s B Division.
Woods is perhaps best known for his time at the critically acclaimed Woodland House and two-hatted Jacques Reymond in Melbourne.

Sommelier Liinaa Berry has returned to Melbourne to curate the wine list that marries small batch Australian producers with rare international varietals at Olivine wine bar, which is also slated to open in February.
TFE Hotels will also launch another new-build hotel in the new year, with Vibe Hotel Adelaide slated to open on February 14 marking the brand’s debut in South Australia.
The 18-storey hotel features 123 rooms and Australia’s first suspended bridge pool that runs between the hotel and the neighboring ONE Apartments.

TFE Hotels is also making its debut in Switzerland with a new build hotel in Geneva.
“In just 13 months, Adina has launched the Vibe and Adina brands in Singapore and, with six new builds, expanded its portfolio in Europe to a total of 17 hotels,” said TFE Hotels Group chief operating officer Chris Sedgwick.
“In Europe, this represents a growth of almost 50 percent, not least of all in Germany, where Adina Hotels is now represented in the eight largest German cities and all regions and is the market leader in the future serviced apartments sector.”
