New contemporary Mediterranean inspired restaurant ela has opened south of Adelaide’s CBD situated within the newly opened Hotel Alba.

Helmed by executive chef Nigel Rich and head chef Ashleigh Lindner, ela’s menu has a focus on shared plates with dishes such as 12-hour braised lamb shanks and grilled chermoula prawns, and small bites like Ouzo grilled squid and octopus carpaccio with Yuzu caviar.

“ela has a vast menu that is perfect for any dining occasion,” said Rich. “The menu is inspired by various areas throughout the Mediterranean region, whilst also highlighting some of South Australia’s finest produce.”

Seating 140, the venue features casual bar seating, as well as a main dining area, poolside function space and a private dining room for intimate groups of 25.

“This is a restaurant that appeals to a wide audience and not just hotel guests,” said Samantha Farrington, general manager of Hotel Alba.

“With a strong focus on local produce including an extensive South Australian beverage list, we are certain people from across Adelaide and beyond will fall in love with ela’s authentic culinary experience.”

Hotel Alba is part of the South Terrace Precinct that also includes The Terrace Hotel and HotelMOTEL, all part of EVT Hotels & Resorts under the Independent Collection.
