Adelaide festival organiser General Admission Events has fallen into liquidation owing suppliers around $85,000.
General Admission Events organised local versions of major music festivals including FOMO Festival and Groovin the Moo, with director Gareth Lewis saying the collapse of FOMO Festival last year left them $150,00 out of pocket.
“When the FOMO Festival ultimately collapsed last year it left us holding the debts in South Australia,” Lewis told The Advertiser.
“With the festival industry shut down there was no other way to raise the money to pay off the debts.
“We did approach the State Government last year to see if they would pay the local suppliers who were owed money but they rejected our pleas.”
The company owes suppliers around $85,000 and the ATO around $125,000, according to documents lodged with ASIC by the liquidator.
