Adelaide Hills Convention Centre scoops Australian Tourism Award for second year running

The Adelaide Hills Convention Centre (AHCC) has been crowned the Best Business Event Venue in Australia at the 2018 Australian Tourism Awards for the second consecutive year.

It has been a successful few years for the AHCC, having received the award for Best Business Event Venue at the South Australian Tourism Awards in both 2017 and 2018.

AHCC general manager Victoria Fox said to be recognised on the national stage is “absolutely incredible”.

“Australia boasts some amazing business event venues and we knew the competition would be intense,” she said. “However, the award is testament to the hard work and dedication of the team who continuously strive to deliver outstanding results to our loyal clients and guests.”

The judges also took into account that in the 2017/18 financial year, occupancy rose by 23 percent and revenue increased by 30 percent on the previous year.

Fox said this year the Centre is expected to grow even further as they focus on innovative ways to attract more visitors to South Australia and the Adelaide Hills region.

AHCC owners Brian and Lynn Schirripa said they were absolutely thrilled to win the coveted award two years in a row.

“We would not have this success and recognition without our dedicated staff who strive every day to make the AHCC such a success,” Brian Schirripa said.

“Our business is family owned and our children work here as well. I think the key to success is treating staff and visitors like family too.

“It has been a huge honour to win these incredible awards and we will keep working extremely hard to ensure the AHCC continues to provide luxurious and memorable events – whatever the occasion is.”
